Woman loses arm in horror smash

A WOMAN passenger has had her arm amputated following an horrific car accident.
The accident occurred at 4am on Sunday morning as the women, aged 25, was being driven along Broadpool Lane past the Total garage in Hambleton.

A spokesman for Lancashire Constabulary said two people were in a Volkswagen caddy van when it collided with a lamp post.

He added the female passenger in the front seat of the car sustained injuries and was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital by ambulance. She under went surgery during which her left arm was amputated just above the elbow.

Police were continuing to investigate the accident and a 34-year-old man was assisting with their inquiries.
