CELEBRATIONS have started to mark Charles Saer Primary School's 50th anniversary.
Pupils have been busy creating special cards to mark the milestone which is being celebrated with a host of events throughout the year.

On Thursday an assembly to mark the opening of the school is taking place.

This will be followed by an assembly on October 22 – the date of the official opening, when it is hoped former governors, teachers and school captains will attend.

And in the meantime, pupils will be involved in work connected with the last half century as well as taking part in a number of celebrations which include a May fair and country dancing afternoon on Thursday May 22.

The school will also throw open its doors on Saturday October 18 to all former pupils.

Headteacher David Mitchell said: "We would be delighted to hear from former pupils, staff and governors."
